  I wanted to give a big shout-out to Ross and Dante at the REI Bike Shop in Lynnwood! I've gotten to know both of them over the course of shopping for and purchasing bikes for my son, and I can't say enough good things about these two guys. They're incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to go the extra mile to help. Whether it's regular bikes or e-bikes, they really know their stuff. On my most recent visit, they helped me repair a busted inner tube on the rear tire of my e-bike, and I really appreciated their time, patience, and willingness to help. It's rare to come across people who genuinely enjoy what they do and care about their customers. Ross and Dante are exactly that. REI is lucky to have them, and I hope management recognizes them for their outstanding customer service. Thanks again, guys! You've definitely earned my continued business. Highly recommend!

  Wow the staff were so grumpy today. In particular Leslie the manager frankly needs to just quit, she clearly is not suitable for dealing with customers. Felt really bad the way she treated Christie on the checkout. Then later I was trying on some clothes and was shouted at through the door of the changing room to put items in hangers. Super weird engagement. It sure what was going on.

  I would probably give the shop between two and three star rating. I’ve had several experiences with the REI bike shop at Alderwood, and my experience has been mixed. Some of the work they’ve done for me has been quick and satisfactory, but my most recent experience has left me pretty disappointed. When I first assembled my new bike, I brought it in for an initial inspection. They found a slightly loose bottom bracket and adjusted the rear brake caliper because the rotor was rubbing. Both were taken care of quickly and without any issues. When I picked the bike up, however, I noticed some scratches in the paint around the rear axle/derailleur area. I can’t say exactly how the damage occurred, but it wasn’t there when I brought in the brand-new bike. I had touch-up paint at home, so I handled it myself and didn’t make a big issue of it. After about 400 miles, the rear wheel came out of true. I brought the wheel in by itself, and they were able to true it the same day. The wheel has been fine since, so I was very happy with that experience. My most recent experience was with the bike’s electronic LTWOO EGR rear derailleur. The derailleur began hopping over the cassette and wouldn’t shift properly in one direction. REI diagnosed it as an electronic issue but explained that they didn’t have the software or diagnostic equipment to work on the EGR system. I contacted the manufacturer, and they were able to identify the problem as being related to the derailleur hanger and sent a replacement part. REI installed the replacement hanger, but the same part subsequently failed again. During the process, the derailleur cable was also damaged. The manufacturer was extremely helpful throughout this process and, despite not being responsible for the damage, sent another hanger and replacement cable. REI installed those as well. Unfortunately, when I picked the bike up the second time, I immediately discovered that the electronic cable had not been fully connected to the battery. It came loose when I attempted to shift in the parking lot, so I had to bring the bike back into the shop to have it connected properly. I also additionally noticed that the bolt securing the derailer hanger to the axle and the bolt that secures the derailer to the hanger seems to have been removed/installed with an improperly sized Alan key, and as a result, the socket that the key goes into has been partially damaged. It still appears functional, but the damage is there nonetheless. I want to be fair because I’ve had good experiences with this shop, particularly with the initial inspection and wheel truing. However, the repeated problems during the derailleur repair and the lack of diagnostic capability for the EGR system made this most recent experience frustrating. I would recommend confirming beforehand that the shop has the necessary equipment and experience before bringing in a bike with a less-common electronic drivetrain.

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had such a wonderful experience at the store, thanks to Ashley! She was incredibly kind, friendly and helpful. She took the time to help me get my membership and made the whole process so easy and enjoyable. Ashley’s positive attitude and kindness truly made my day better. She is a great example of excellent customer service, and I’m so proud to have met someone who cares so much about helping customers. Thank you, Ashley for making my experience so special!

  I came into REI with two separate issues on my wife’s and my Cannondale Topstone Lefty gravel bikes. John met me at the bike shop, put my wife’s bike on the stand, checked it over, and made a few quick adjustments that fixed the problem right on the spot. He then did the same with my bike, and within just a few minutes both bikes were ready to go. I took them out for a test ride, and they worked perfectly. John was knowledgeable, efficient, and incredibly helpful. It was great to have someone quickly diagnose the issues and get both bikes running properly without making things more complicated than they needed to be. Excellent service and definitely a 5-star experience!
