  DO NOT ORDER A BIKE THROUGH REI. I recently ordered a bike for my son, and it turns out they use freight companies for the shipping. It’s already a week late and I’ve been given constant misinformation. Do yourself a big favor and order from a bike dealer that ships via regular residential carriers like UPS or FedEx.

  I purchased a pair on Solomon hiking shoes, X Ultra 5 Mid GTX, on April 7th of 2026. They were marked down on the shelf, and they were my size. Originally they were $190, I left the store paying the on sale price of $120. Great deal for very comfortable shoes/boots. At the time of sale, I ended up signing up for the membership, that extends returns from 90 days to 1 year. I am sure there is caveats to this that I am not familiar with, but I think my situation should have been treated differently regardless of my membership status. On May 7th, the boots developed rips in the sides of them. I didn't return to the store until this past week, as it is over an hour from my house. I explained to them that they ripped a month into owning them, and I was 90 days into owning the boots. Julia said there was no way of knowing that they ripped 1 month into owning, and it looks like they boots were just plain worn out. Ive hiked in the boots twice, and wear every day for work. I work in an office environment, and wear boots for weekend work as well. They didnt look at my account, or care to provide any more dialog on a solution. I was pretty disappointed leaving the store. I did find pictures in my phone of the boots as I sent them to a friend, one month after the purchase. I have 4 hours of travel time into these boots, but I did get a great deal on them. More so principal of the interaction at the store than the boots.

  REI has really gone downhill. Both their products and their service. I had a terrible experience at this REI location. The staff collectively assaulted and harassed me verbally for being a service dog user, and for criticizing the decline of REI. It's a leftwing business, which means that the "feelings" of the employees outweigh any and every other consideration. In fact, I asked for contact info to make a complaint, and while one employee was writing it down, another employee came along and tore up the paper! I left the store but had to go back in for something, and 8 store employees were viciously gossiping about me at the checkout area. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE FROM REI EVER AGAIN!
