- JJJojo3 days ago3.0I am a member and this REI is close to me, but it's my least favorite location. They rarely have multiple sizes available and any time I want something they would need to order it online, which takes like a week and a half to arrive. Just means I end up buying elsewhere if I need it. Also, I once dropped a ton of money and was never told about the credit card or membership. I went to REI in CS a day later and was stoked to sign up. But it was sad that none of my previous purchase points could be collected. Why didn't the Austin staff tell me about that? I also have to come and find staff and wait for help, and on busy days they just disappear after asking them for help. Is it the Austin vibe? Dunno, but there are so many great branches and this one bums me out.

Tried calling their store, but will no reach anyone due to "closed hours" I assume management is okay with people dumping possible contaminants in front of their doors. This is not a good look.

I understand employees are encouraged to promote memberships, but after declining multiple times, I still felt pressured to sign up. The kevin continued comments about “missing out” and discussing the points and money I was giving away with the customer behind me felt unprofessional. It left a negative impression on what was otherwise a good shopping experience.

Standing next to another customer and he voiced having the same issue. Just forces me to shop online. Whether its local management or corporate, someone needs to ameliorate their inventory allocations so I'm not stuck looking g at 3XXL or Small with very little in between.
