  DOES NOT ACCOMMODATE BIG RIGS! I would not come here with anything larger than 35 max. We booked a reservation here for our 41 foot 5th wheel and ram 3500 extended cab. A combination of approximately 60ft. Upon arrival Saturday evening we were directed to lot that was maybe 45foot and on an incline. The lot and river was beautiful and had we been 35foot we could have potentially made it work. However being our length it put us out much further than where the lot was level causing our front end to be extended on the slope. We even had difficulty backing our large weight into the slipped spot spinning our dually tires. Our second option was going up to a lot that was a pull through and on a slope left to right, also not long enough for our rig and making tight turns on narrow washed out steep road. My husband immediately told the camp host his concerns and that he wasn’t sure we could make this work. There are no other campgrounds for a couple hours that can accommodate large rigs so we worked for 2 hours to try and manually level. We finally decided for leave as it was getting dark fast and had no cell service and no campground to sleep at. We have to drive multiple hours out of the way with our 4 tired kids and reroute our entire plans. Cost us more money, time and nearly missing my brother wedding because we couldn’t find anywhere to stay. Needless to say it was exhausting and chaotic. We did not get around to contacting the owners until Tuesday as we were preoccupied with this unexpected traveling and trying to reschedule our life. They are now refusing to refund us. Absolutely bs. Beyond tired of these campgrounds saying they can accommodate big rigs and then showing up to find out they are squeezing us into areas far too small.

  Stayed for months there and truly loved the park. A great place to camp, highly recommend. The walking area by the river with swing to enjoy along the water. Friendly atmosphere and peaceful place to be.

  Great little campground that is growing. Nestled along side the Doe River just inside the entrance to Roan Mountain State Park, this campground offers a variety of sites whether you want park along the river front or settle in on the side of the mountain. The staff at Sugar Hollow are friendly and accommodating and are continuing to expand their facilities. While we were there, the laundry area was completed and six new "long term" sites were cleared by inspectors. It is a remote area of Tennessee, but has all of the necessities within a ten minute drive. Do yourself a favor and check out the wood fired pizza at Smokey Mountain Bakers nearby. The six cheese is our favorite. And if that doesn't satisfy you, larger metro areas are with a 30 minute drive.

  We had a great time. Park is new and nice and clean. Great place to spend time with family and friends.
