About

Golf Course
Designed by three-time Masters and British Open Championship Winner Gary Player, is a par 72 course that has been popular since the sunny day it opened back in 1972. The front nine hugs the valley floor while the back nine offers a challenging mountain course. A beautiful sparkling mountain stream meanders throughout the entire course making for a breathtaking contrast between water and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Played today 8/27/2026 Good layout. Loved the course, good condition but will NEVER go back. The bugs, knots and mosquitoes are the worse I've ever played in. They know but say they can't exterminate because can't spray chemicals in national park. They are beyond horrible. PLEASE BE AWARE BEFORE GOING. sorry I can't rate better because of that.

We stayed in a cabin this past weekend and it was GORGEOUS. We had to pass the course to get in and out. Its a beautiful course. Too bad the fella cutting the grass was dumping all the clipping Into the water which is illegal under the Tennessee Solid Waste act. SHAME ON YOU COBBLY KNOB

This is the first golf course I've played where cars actually drive thru the course placing drivers and golfers in harms way. Stops signs in place and even the security guard in the green Subaru blew thru the stop sign. The 2nd hole actually hits driver into traffic. Literally you drive over the street 100 feet in front of the tee box. I wonder how many cars have been hit!!?? 5th hole also drives parallel to close traffic ~75 feet. No starter so 2-3 groups bunched up without any pace management. Tee boxes were not well managed, full of weeds and mud . I'd give it a zero if I could.

Bent Creek is a decent, enjoyable mountain course – a solid 3.7 stars. The weekend price felt a little high, however, at $71 after tax. I'd put the value closer to $50–55 as a weekend price. Designed by the legendary Gary Player early in his design career, the layout has some interesting challenges, particularly holes 3, 9, 11, 13, and 17. Quite a few force you to put the driver away and rely on a long iron or smooth 3-wood. The back nine is more scenic overall with its elevation changes, though the front has some nice mountain views with the creek and rocks in the foreground. Fairways on the front are fairly close to one another, less so on the back. Conditions were mixed. Fairways, though decent overall, were weedy in places with patches of mud in some low lying shady areas. The rough didn't seem significantly thicker or taller than the fairways, except an occasional deep patch here and there that was genuinely challenging. Greens were a tad slow and somewhat patchy in spots – though far from terrible. Tee boxes were generally fine, although a couple were poor and in dire straits. Hole 14, the highest point on the course, has no natural grass on the tee box – just mats. Bunkers were less impressive than other courses in the area. The sand wasn't very deep on some holes, but as long as it hasn't rained recently, most will be playable. Pace of play should be good if you get out early, but some locals apparently skip to the back when playing nine, which can disrupt the flow. The course could do a better job keeping tabs on where groups are starting, as the front desk seemed a little surprised when I mentioned it at the turn. Overall difficulty is about average from the white tees, maybe slightly more so on the back 9. If you’re looking for a more challenging course overall with more distance, check out the nearby Sevierville Golf Club. And as other reviews mention, the gnats are no joke, especially on tee boxes and greens. Bring bug spray! Overall, a solid course with an interesting layout and good scenery. I’d play Bent Creek again – at a lower price.

My fiancé and I were visiting from Ohio and were excited to play this course. Pictures online look beautiful and we had high hopes for the course. We ended up extremely disappointed. We had booked 18 online and total we paid $93. For the price we paid we would have expected a much more quality course. The course is not hard to follow but holes are very close together, the fairways were a mess, and they didn’t regulate pace of play at all. It took us 2 hours to make it thru 9 holes as the large group ahead of us put multiple balls into play and didn’t let us thru. Again being from Ohio we needed to head home and we weren’t going to have time at this rate of play to get thru the back. I went inside to explain our situation and the older lady who originally checked us in was very nice and apologetic but the younger girl who was on her phone butts into the conversation in a very rude manner and said no refunds we can do a rain check. We had literally just said we were not from here so a rain check doesn’t help us at all. The older lady was so sweet and came outside as we were putting our cart away to say sorry again. However the course was a mess so we don’t intend to come back. We just ideally want our money back for the back nine.
