  I spent that last 18 months working with Golftec. I spent over $4,000 in lessons, practiced 2-3 days a week, spent another $1,400 on fitted irons yet my handicap index went from 14 to 16.5 in 18 months. The lessons and instruction didn't translate to real course play for me. I'll give some pro's and cons: Pro's - The technology helps you understand swing mechanics with real data vs just observations. That is useful to know what the correct shoulder tilt and turn feel like. - You will learn alot about what a good swing looks like Con's - Hitting off of nice lies on a matt doesn't translate to real course play with rough, soft conditions, etc. - Short game and putting are really out of scope as they can not really simulate those conditions well in an indoor facility - Lessons get repetitive quickly as they continually show you "what" the swing should look like but dont do well at helping you figure out "how" to make a swing like that. - No real lesson plan explained. Its just ad hoc lessons each time you show up - My instructor wanted to rebuild my swing vs work with what I have and that didn't work. I suppose that is a good strategy to keep buying more lessons.

  I am a recent retiree and my game was poor due to lack of playing and age over the past 20 years. I originally shot over 100 when I returned to the game. I signed up for 40 1/2 hr lessons with Matt beginning in March of 2025. Matt took great care, patience and encouragement over those lessons and I have dropped at least 12 shots to a handicap of 16 since stating with Golf Tec. I recently signed up for 25 more lessons as I hope to shave off more strokes. A great benefit to Golf Tec is the 90 minutes a week allowed to hit balls in the simulator.

  I am 65 years old and it takes some time to correct 35 years of bad habits and the process at times has been quite frustrating. Derek has great energy and enthusiasm that gets me to focus on the right parts of my swing and has taught me so much about the mechanics of swinging a golf club. He is passionate about coaching and improving and gets 100% effort from his clients. He always takes an active interest when he is not teaching, which means students get far more from their practice time too. I highly recommend taking the swing analysis and a series of lessons from Derek.

  I learned right away the difference between "just taking a lesson" at your nearest driving range vs. taking a lesson at Goltec. There are not enough good things to say about Alex Begg. Within minutes he had me hitting the ball better; not just by using his own knowledge, but for me, it was also seeing myself on the video screen in multiple angles that made it click. The patience, instruction, and the knowledge that Alex is sharing with me is invaluable. I have already lowered my score by at least 5 shots per 9. If you're on the fence, just do it. Best lessons anywhere!
