We aren’t your typical cyclists. We don’t wear spandex (although we applaud those who do). And we don’t ride traditional upright cycles. We just find riding a bike to be more enjoyable riding ‘bent (recumbent). That’s why we opened Lancaster Recumbent. The mission of our family owned and operated business is simple: connect people with cycles that make them feel good and get them outdoors to have fun. Our goal is to provide you with a great customer experience from the time you step in the shop - a place where you can learn hands-on about different types of recumbent cycles and ‘ride before you buy’ in a comfortable, friendly, low-pressure environment.
Nice showroom, great hospitality and service

The customer service there is outstanding! They went out of their way to accommodate my autistic son with his first experience on a recumbent to make sure that he felt comfortable with it. Hopefully the funding goes thru and I can purchase the Rambler from them in the very near future. Thank you again for the outstanding service!
4/26/2025: We picked up the new bike this weekend and once again they went above and beyond to accommodate my son. I cannot thank them enough for the excellent customer service we received!

I was very impressed with the hospitality and service provided at Lancaster Recumbent. I want to personally thank everyone at the shop for helping me to become a "bent rider."
The shop has a lovely "Mom and Pop" atmosphere and offered services required by both regular, common two wheel riders, or those like me with special needs. The shop is ADA compliant with entrances geared toward allowing all to access this delightful shop. I purchased a tadpole recumbent trike and had the bike fitted for my height and needs. I felt welcome and left after the sizing and upgrading session full of hope toward becoming a bike rider once again.
It all started after seeing a recumbent rider on the Rails To Trails Path and another on Harrisburg Pike. The desire to ride again. I had no idea that bikes existed for those of us with impairment. I feel blessed to live within a short drive of the Lancaster Recumbent Shop. I will be back for that cute little helmet I spied upon leaving after my visit where I also purchased a reflective flag, flashing lights, bell, and a healthy dose of hope of being able to find a new beginning.
When you visit make sure to checkout the nearby Rail Trail and experience the outdoors whether walking or riding. Marietta is an adorable little town.
Additional note of interest. You can rent a trike or recumbent to ride the trails. Go visit and have fun shopping for your new hobby. Appointments are necessary due to Covid pandemic.
Yes, I will see you on the trail, waving my colorful reflective flag, ringing my bell, and having a good old time on my very noticeable orange tadpole recumbent trike. If lucky, I will be giggling and not huffing and puffing...
Please like this post if you found it helpful. Thank you!
Highly recommend! A+

Wife and I visited about a year ago and I bought a Catrike 559 after riding several trikes. Scott, Diane, Sarah, and Rosie were all super friendly, and let us take our time. No pressure to make a sale. Fitting the trike to me (or me to the trike) was great. Store is outstanding with quality recumbents and accessories and top notch service. We live over 100 miles away from the store and the trip is well worth our time. If you want a recumbent, then you need to check out Lancaster Recumbents.
