  Hubby loves the slots and most of the place is amazing but wow thay smoking section! I just can’t breathe walking through there and most of the games we love happen to be right I. The middle of it. My first time there and I was choking on smoke coughing when the drink lady came by and I asked for a water please and she was rude and asked if I was even going to tip her no ma’am not after that u made no drink u simple handed me a little bottle of water. The place is great some of the staff and the smokers could use some work!!

  This is the best casino I’ve ever been. It has everything that you wanna play. One thing I like the best is that they take the cards out of the machine and hand-deal them, very fairly. I would love to go back there again for sure.

  Went last evening with wife to see if there were any improvements over the past year. We had been regular customers since the original opening. For a Saturday evening it was not anywhere as busy as it used to be. Our first walk around and the disappointment began. Smoking in this casino is disgusting for nonsmokers and the dirty machines proved that.And no-one enforces the smoking/ nonsmoking area while we were there. Parx Shippensburg is smoke free.Why not make an area where smokers go out to a special confined area similar to the Parx and the Philadelphia Phillies.Next, the kiosk ordering for food is cumbersome and confusing. Trying to get someone's attention at the counter was customer disappointment especially since 3 different women continued to chat with each other and wouldn't acknowledge us standing there.Parx Shippensburg their focus is the customer. I must say most drink girls and especially Sam and Suzie(the floor clean up ) are very friendly and work very hard. Cant say that for the rest of the staff.The change in alcohol pricing was an unpleasant surprise. $7.00 for a 12 oz beer. And you cannot get a beer with your earned credits. Parx Shippensburg is $5.00 for a 16 Oz beer and you can use your earned credits. Gaming is gaming so you have good and bad days regardless if it's here or Parx. It's unfortunate to see what this place was to what it is now. Especially since they tend to have record breaking revenue and not putting some back to draw customers back.

  I’m here for a RunGood Poker Series and I’m pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness, size, and friendless of this casino. I’m also 1-for-1 in food, but I did play it safe with a Chicken Garden Salad. Up until this trip, Hollywood Casinos that I have visited on my travels have been average at best. They’re usually in areas where the competition is kicking their ass, the casino is relatively unkempt, and it’s just not a great vibe. However, this property is the complete opposite. It’s kind of awesome. It’s super clean, the staff is great, and the patrons seem friendly and respectful. It reminds me a lot of Harrah’s Cherokee—including many locals that recognize each other. At Cherokee (NC), you get about 50% tourists and 50% locals. That’s due to being surrounded by big cities within 2-4 hours yet still in the mountains. Here, I would assume it’s closer to 80% locals. This probably plays into the chill and friendly vibe. One thing I have noticed on my travels (this is poker room #118), outside of Vegas, most people know each other at every casino. An added bonus, is that they had a local band and a DJ last night (DJ between sets) and everyone was having a good time. I sat there and watched people dance and appreciated the good energy. I have some darkness to me but I really appreciate these moments where people are happy and enjoying themselves. It allows me to tune-in to my good side. Really really good vibes here with that dance floor. If I were to point out a negative, it’s the $7 and $8 beers. This is simply greed. At Harrah’s Cherokee (my home court for poker), you can get a $5 Landshark beer. It’s not the best beer, but it allows you to walk around and enjoy a beer. Since the beers here were $7 and $8, I stopped drinking and consumed nothing for the last three hours I was there. The casino would make more money with a low-price beer option. The price points are a little too high for maximizing profit anyway. They are only hurting themselves. Almost every casino has at least one negative. But overall, this is a really cool spot and definitely recommended!
