  I don’t write reviews but feel compelled to leave something following a bad experience at the bike dept. Bought two of their new model rev 16” bikes for my twin boys as they grew out of their co-op balance bikes that are less than a year old. Bought them in the KOP store, can’t say enough about that experience, Russ in the shop there was amazing. He looked up the balance bikes we still had and said they are well within the trade-in window and were worth $44 each and that we should bring them into a store to get credit. Went into Plymouth meeting the next day and first was told “yeah I don’t think the balance bikes are eligible for trade”. Told them where I just was yesterday and to please check. Once he realized he was wrong he started scrutinizing the bikes and ultimately decided he wouldn’t take them because they were “too used”…they’re less than a year old and REI accepts trade ins on them for (I believe it was 7 years on that specific model). I asked in what way because they look in pretty great shape for a toddler bike and he pointed at the worn heads on the axle nuts. I said they’re $.75 nuts that I’m sure they have hundreds of in the back, just replace them? And he said he flat out wouldn’t take them. Went right back out to KOP immediately after where they didn’t even look the bikes over just accepted the trade in. Plymouth Meeting store is far more convienient to me but I’ll be driving out to KOP from now on.

  Co-op model shopping. Great for outdoor gear, camping, hiking, clothing, footwear. Nice upscale brands. Helpful staff.

  Curtis at the Conshohocken, PA store was incredible. I arrived asking for help to diagnose an issue with a Yakima lock on my Rack and Roll trailer. He offered to help, runs to his office and emerges with a tool box. After an initial failed attempt, he ran back to his office, found more tools and fixed the trailer lock. It was 95 degrees outside, and the end of the day on the 4th of July. Instead of giving up, he repeatedly tried to help and shared great insights on how to manage Yakima locks. This employee deserves recognition! Great customer service! Thanks, REI! 👏👏👏
