  This is a solid course. It has lots of ups and downs since its PA mountain area, but not obnoxious. It has a couple holes with the lake and giant windmills as back drop which was cool. Keep track of where mounds are because if your shots are off a little you will bounce hard right/left and could lead to a bigger score so play smart. Some holes were a little tight but overall there is a lot of room for letting loose on your shots. Traps could have been in better shape but since 2020 most courses treat traps like an after thought. The staff were very friendly and helpful (the front desk gal was rocking some hard rock/metal in the background which is always cool to see). The hot dog glizzy was pretty good. After the bar area had lots of food and beer options and was nice to have available before our trip back home. This course is part of the stay and play package at the Comfort Inn in Somerset and that deal is excellent before Memorial Day. The Somerset CC is one of the choices but if their greens are punched then try both North Winds and the Peninsula course instead (at that point you might stay at the lodge since its a 30 min drive to Comfort Inn). I rate this as a five compared against other municipal type courses, not against pro style. We didn't play the Peninsula neighbor course but heard its even nicer but more tight.

  Excellent course! Challenging, well maintained course, with picturesque views. Staff was friendly and helpful. As a casual golfer , the course was a little more challenging than what I’m used to playing, but incredibly enjoyable. Greens were some of the best I’ve played. Each green presented a unique challenge with pin placement and varying slope. You can’t beat the views at this place! If you are local to the area and haven’t played this course, you need to. I will be back!
