- JDJames DonovanJul 26, 20265.0This place has the best WOOL SOCKS you can get anywhere retail. REI Co-Op brand has the highest amount of moreno wool of any sock sold. These wool socks last longer than any other brand of wool socks except Darn Tough. But Darn Tough uses less wool and more plastic in their socks. REI Co-Op wool socks COST HALF the cost of Darn Tough or any other brand. They have a better selection of wool socks here than anywhere else I've ever found as well. I drive down from Vancouver for these socks. Pretty good selection of knives and sunglasses too.

I don't know if y'all have seen shoe prices lately, but I was SHOCKED when I pulled up to a different store and realized how much things have gone up. I was feeling really disappointed because I couldn't hardly afford new sneakers, forget actual decent hiking shoes. Also, it seemed like a lot of the options were made of materials that wouldnt fare well for me, I can be pretty adventurous on hikes and it rips cheap shoes up. When I explained all this and needing a budget option at REI, I was complaining to the poor employee more than anything, but she explained the co-op second hand store to me! There I was able to find multiple pairs of previously worn, high quality shoes in my sizes that met my need, in the price range from 40 to 50 bucks. Even after the membership, my total came to $81. This is the same cost that the "cheap" sneakers at the first store were offering, and I got a $30 gift card that I'll be using tomorrow! I'm quite delighted. Will be shopping for years to come
