- LLLaura LeeAug 24, 20263.0The course itself is fine. Well maintained for a public course and in a fun location just beyond the Lunken runways and Ohio to Erie way. We booked a very early round in the hopes of having a relaxing Sunday. Bring a colored ball for the last few holes (near the driving range). Really my only complaint is about the expected pace of play and clientele they attract. Felt like we needed to run the fairway even though we were right on for pace of play for the group in front of us (4 walking). Our foursome were essentially all hitting at the same time trying to move forward as quickly as possible which left little room for ball management, problem solving, mental game, or socializing within the group. While the course itself is good for beginners (flat, wide, straight, few hazards) I wouldn't recommend it for those looking to feel relaxed to learn on the course. Tee times are stacked 9 minutes apart which means you've feel like you've got about 8 minutes to complete a hole before the next group is breathing down your neck from the tee box. I experienced several very crude and rude golfers complaining about various things to me or at us. You'd think we were at a private club from some of the attitudes... I left several balls in the fairway and light rough simply because the foursome behind us was already on top of us and it wasn't worth the mental game of trying to carry on. If you don't have an event here, with blocked out tee times I would not recommend it for a beginner. Would be a great spot for someone looking to say they broke 100.
