He mentioned the membership option but never pushed it. I went upstairs and was helped by Crystal. She was very helpful and knowledgeable and helped me choose the right shoes for me. First experience at any REI and it was a success.

The store itself has a lot to offer, but when I was browsing it seemed a lot of the cheeper camping stuff was out of stock unfortunately. For example there were no bivys or tents cheeper then 200. Online there are more options though!
