  We came in looking for new hiking boots and received excellent service. Gracie was knowledgeable about the differences in brands and worked with us to find the perfect fit. She was attentive to all the customers who were in the shoe area and never once rushed any customer. We appreciated the experience!

  Big shout out to Allie for saving my day and getting me on the WWC trails today! Excellent service from the staff - took the time this morning to replace some broken spokes on the spot. Of course, can’t walk out of REI without a few extras :). Thanks again Allie and staff!

  The cashier was amazing! The floor staff watched me like an eagle as if I was a vagrant. Twice they commented on what I was looking at, a backpack, nice back pack too bad it’s expensive. This was why I was in the store. Rather not wait for it to ship but buy it directly. Another employee, manager asked directly why I’m here. I said to buy a backpack and walked away. So the nice person at the register offered to update my phone number and I was pleased to say yes if it wasn’t a trouble. Another staff member nosey on by thinking I’m causing an issue. She backed off when the nice person at the registry explained she offered to help. Word of advice, instead of your Saturday Crowders hiking attire, wear a suit when you go there. Comments about my shoes, probably cause I just hiked, or about the backpacks price being too expensive is not needed. It is an outdoor outfit store after all, a bit in an iffy area, but wow, thanks for making one of your REI members for life feel comfortable. Backpack was great, but I’ll probably visit the Pineville location instead or order online. Two stars for the person with all the national parks they’ve visited.

  Love this store! Michelle helped me with an exchange and had a really great conversation with her. Honestly influenced me to consider working at REI… seems like a healthy and enjoyable workplace! Will be back.
