  Disclosure: this review critics only the process of receiving the RV and has no connection to the overall experience. I arrived at their office, and that was when I realized that some people are waiting there for almost an hour. The main reason for that is that they are understaffed in an incredible way. Their place was discussing and full of garbage. However, The worker was so nice, and gave incredible service, so maybe the problems were a one time thing. Although the place is dirty, the service made up for it.

  Rented a side by side-first time, prior cycle experience but this was new. The staff was great, price fair, and the trails at Little Bear a lot of fun. Recommended !

  1 star. I would strongly caution others before renting from Big Boys Toys - and specifically the owner, Ethan Downes. Our group rented a 4-seater and three individual quads on August 8. We were specifically told one quad would be a Yamaha, but instead received a different quad that repeatedly shut off during our ride. Based on our interactions with Big Boys Toys, it became apparent that they were already aware this equipment had been experiencing mechanical issues before it was rented to us. That quad eventually became completely inoperable. We immediately contacted Big Boys Toys and followed their instructions on where to leave it. We then had to arrange for someone with a personal vehicle to retrieve the stranded rider. During that process, a second one of our three individual quads also became inoperable. At that point, two of the three quads we rented had broken down, we lost a significant portion of our rental time, and we ultimately had to end the outing early. The personal vehicle used to retrieve our stranded riders also sustained scratches and wheel damage. I contacted Big Boys Toys afterward requesting a refund given everything that happened. Instead, they charged us an additional $260 to retrieve the malfunctioning vehicles. So, in summary: we were provided equipment that Big Boys Toys appeared to already know had mechanical issues, two of our three individual quads became inoperable, riders were left stranded, we had to use and damage a personal vehicle retrieving them, our outing was cut short, and we were then charged another $260 for Big Boys Toys to pick up their malfunctioning equipment. We have photos and videos documenting the equipment and what occurred. Equipment can break. What is unacceptable is renting equipment with known issues and then making the customer pay hundreds of dollars more when that equipment fails. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Big Boys Toys. The owner Ethan is unethical for not only renting out known malfunctioned equipment, but then charging the customer for it. Stay away from this spot.

  Avoid this place at all costs and use another service if possible even if it’s a little further away. We rented 3 ATVs and 1 side by side on 8/8/26. The ordeal started off with employees talking about a previous customer flipping one of the side by sides and they welded it back together in the shop. In order to test if this repair was done safely and ready to be rented back out they said the owner Ethan and a few employees consumed enough alcohol to be “tuned up” and took the side by side up the mountain at night, and since they didn’t break it, it was deemed safe to be rented back out. We then went to the pick up spot and realized that the one four wheeler they rented us was junk and not the one we actually reserved on paper because they accidentally rented that one out earlier. 2 of our four wheels came up with error codes 2 hours within our trip due to not being properly maintained (when I called a few days later the lady explained to me that the one four wheeler had a bad battery and the other had a faulty connection). We called big boys toys from the mountain and they explained to leave the four wheelers on the side of the road and they’ll fix them and get them back. We used the side by side and another friends vehicle to pick up the 2 stranded riders (we were very lucky to get service to find these riders in their location because most of the area has no service). A few days later we get a call from big boys toys that said we owe them $750 for having to recover the 4 wheelers from the mountain but they will discount our recovery fee down to $260. Why should we be paying a recovery fee for them renting out the wrong equipment that was also faulty? They charged our card and the payment went through. We have been trying to contact Ethan the owner for 2 weeks now and he just keeps avoiding us and directs his employees to tell us he will call back the next day but never does. He also will not let them give us his cell phone number. I would seriously consider going elsewhere because if anything they should have refunded us for only being able to ride for 2 hours when we were supposed to have them rented for 8 hours. It’s a shame they operate like this.

  Thanks to Tori and the rest of Ethan's team, Big Boys Toys made a difficult situation as painless as possible. BBT for the WIN! Rent anything they have--they are wonderful people working in a very challenging service business, and they do it with courtesy, professionalism, clear communication, and most of all, cheerful personalities. Thanks for the help!!
