I was considering buying some ultralight gear, but I went to pick it up and found it tied down. The chances of me tracking down an associate, requesting permission to handle an ultralight garment, and then proceeding to exchange $150 for it are zero.
- EOEmelia OlsonAug 10, 20262.0The store itself is nice and we have gotten stuff here in the past. We came in a week ago to get the hydraulic brakes on my bike worked on. Within 5 seconds of talking to the bike tech he said they could not work on my bike. To preface I have a pedal assist E-Bike not one of those super fast and powerful E-Bikes. When I asked for further clarification the tech was super dismissive and said they cannot do that at REI. I left as he had already decided it was not going to happen and that I wasn't worth an explanation. I called the Bloomington REI and asked if they would be able to complete this service, stating that another store told me they could not. They looked up my bike, had no idea what the tech as Roseville was on about and we went and dropped it off. The brake bleed was easily done by the REI techs in Bloomington. Not sure if that guy was having a bad day or what but he was rude, dismissive, and talked down to me because I didn't have the same level of bike knowledge that he did (like ya bud that's why I brought it to you).
