I stopped in to Great Lakes Coin & Collectibles for the first time today and was pleasantly impressed my experience! I had the pleasure of working with Thomas, who's demeanor and patience while working with me is what made me feel so comfortable with even just the idea of doing business with them. Based on other experiences I have had with other local shops I can confidently say that this shop is most definitely in my local top 2 favorites. After a second stop (because I am certain I will be back again) they may even snag the full on #1 favorite local gold, silver and coin shop in my books. Thank you, Thomas, for making my experience a pleasant one. May you, your children and your home be blessed my friend! Until next time 🫡

Absolutely unimpressed with this business. Rude and unprofessional. Very short winded and anegative. Do not waste your time here I strongly suggest taking your business elsewhere!!

Met with Lee this morning. He wrote up the appraisal on a post-it. I had silver, platinum and various karats of gold items I was going to be selling. Told him I was getting more than 1 appraisal (this is standard protocol for a smart seller of ANYTHING). This was the beginning of his snippy attitude. I asked for the breakdown on the post-it and he said no (he saw the professional appraisal from his competitor American Rare Coin). I told him his was less than theirs and the value of the metals was higher today than when I got the quote earlier this week. He said he didn't quote on 3 items they did (not sure about the values of the 3 because he wouldn't provide a broken down, logical appraisal to me). Asked about the best type (form) and karat of gold to buy as I was going to be buying some as an investment. The more I learned about this type of investment the more intrigued I was and I was going to be buying thousands of dollars worth (like 20-50k or more of gold) but he won't see a penny of my purchase. Attitude is everything and his needs some work. Anyway, he won't be getting any of my business every.
