  Beautiful course but the rangers are absolutely terrible. We were jammed up at the turn and still finished in 4:20 but the rangers constantly harassed us and were very rude. Would not consider playing this course again, Greystone is 3 miles down the road and far superior.

  Never again. Finished the round 8 minutes over the 4.24 minutes per hole they scheduled us for. By the 4th hole rangers were on us about pace. Heard from the rangers 8 times about pace. Starter would not let us put mustard on food at the turn because the group behind was coming up the fairway? Rangers didnt know the group in front of us was with us. Being told the group we were with were on 9 when we were on 6, only to see them on the 9th green when we tee it up on 9 should tell you everything you need to know.

  It cost me a $40 rider fee to ride with my daughter who is a Jr. and was playing 18 holes. That's rediculous. They should be ashamed of themselves. Most other courses in the area do not charge more than $20. Also the round took 5 hours and we waited on every hole to tee off.

  Played The Orchards on a Tuesday afternoon with my son. After playing seven holes, it began to pour and the GPS monitor on the cart told us to “immediately return to the clubhouse due to extreme weather conditions.” It began to rain sideways. It poured. We are golfers, and were prepared for rain, but no one could prepare for the type of rain we went through on the course and on the way back to the club house. We were drenched from head to foot and our gear was drenched. My son was wearing a Gore-Tex rain jacket, and it rained so hard on the way back to the clubhouse that his coat overloaded and he was sopping wet under the jacket. We play in rain all the time, and our gear has never failed. That’s how hard it poured wind driven rain on us. In addition, unlike most modern clubs, The Orchards does not have club covers on the back of their carts, so our bags and clubs were drenched. On returning to the club, I was informed in the pro-shop that they would not issue a rain check, and they wanted us to “go back out” because it was “clearing up.” I explained that” you called me in, I did not come in on my own, and we are drenched and now out of position.” They could see how wet we were, and they did not offer a rain check or even a 9 hole rain check. They did not care. They said that carts were moving and it was clearing up. Since we had driven an hour and twenty minutes to play The Orchards for my son’s birthday, we decided to go back out. It rained off and on during the back but on two more occasions it poured again for extended periods of time. I always carry Foot Joy rain gloves, and my grips were so wet that I could not even hold my club with the gloves designed for wet conditions. Everything in the cart and on us was so wet, there was nothing to use to dry grips. The last straw was when they posted on the cart screen that they expected the latest heavy rain event to end in “20 minutes.” We decided to skip holes and head in instead of sitting in the pouring rain once again. The course is beautiful and was in great shape. The ground crew does an amazing job. The greens were wonderful. It is a great course, and they should give the Super a raise. However, I’m so disappointed with how they treated guests during and after severe weather events that I had to write this lengthy poor review. When we got home, it took days for our empty bags to dry out. It wasn’t fun, and golfing with your son for his birthday should have been fun.
