  Staff is very helpful, some has been there for years so they are knowledgeable about their products. They also have workshops on outdoor activities and DIY classes on bike maintenance, ski tuning/waxing. . .etc. Their semi annual garage sales were phenomenal, but no longer hold them. Now their Re/Supply shelves are hit or miss, but year round now. If you can't find it in their stores, chances are, you can order it online and ship it home or to a store for pick up.

  Went for hiking shoes for my husband. The shoe department worker was incredibly helpful and patient as we tried on different brands and types of fit. In the end he recommended one a bit different than the ones were trying and it ended up being exactly what we needed. He did not upsell, he just listened to what we really needed and found it for us. Then when we went to the counter the cashier was a very sweet older man who answered my questions very enthusiastically about the origin of the company (it started off as just a tiny company selling ice picks...who knew?!) Yes, they are overpriced, but they are definitely worth it most of the time.

  Went to shop for gear as a first time long distance hiker. A REI employee was super helpful and knowledgeable on selecting the right boots. Backpack fitting was also very informational, but lowkey got roasted on my build in the process. Still great customer service.
