The Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center provides educational and informational programming and hosts a number of activities and annual events with the nature enthusiast in mind. Visitors can meet the live critters that live at the center and roam the miles of trails that surround it. Scouts and other groups can plan a field trip to the center and the staff will work to plan a program that fits the interests of the group.
The Shadbush Gardens are divided into 3 sections: The Deer Resistant Garden, Pollinator and Native Plants Garden, and the Historical Plants Garden. Each themed garden contains a wealth of information, and brochures are available on the bulletin board by the entrance.
