  Walked in looking for a pair of cycling shoes after a local store didn't have my size (and where the staff was just meh). Left with the shoes, a lifetime membership ($35 and they threw in a $20 gift card?!), and a newfound love for REI. My first time ever at an REI and I am now like... where have you been all my life? I sadly forget the name of the gentleman who helped me, but buying shoes for something as niche as cycling can be a little intimidating when you're not a pro. He not only helped me find the perfect pair but also shared so much valuable knowledge about clipped-in shoes, techniques, all the different types. It was such a great interaction that I decided to become a member on the spot. I won't go too deep into the membership since it's not specific to this store, but it basically pays for itself after a few purchases thanks to the 10% back and free shipping on everything online. I then browsed around and was impressed by everything they carry, from well-known outdoor brands to local ones. They also have this really cool section in the back where members can buy previously returned items at a heavily discounted price. LOVE.

  ANDY at the Bike shop-amazing, 5 star customer service and definitely recommend for those who want to ride (beginner or seasoned). He was very professional, helpful, knowledgeable and you can tell he takes pride in his work and enjoys it. GRETCHEN at the front checkout counter-nope! She was unprofessional, very rude to the customer before me, had zero personality or interpersonal skills; highly recommend a refresh training in customer service. She should take a few lessons from Andy at the bike shop. It is too much for you to be nice? Holy mackerels!

  Stopped in today trying to pick up a camping chair; I’m here all the time but was especially impressed by the customer service I got today. James went above and beyond looking for the last one they hand in stock, and was able to locate it after a thorough search. Really appreciate the effort, and am happy with the purchase!
