  I was wondering how Hollywood slots and Penn national felt about FLOCK Cameras being set up on either side of their property on Main street in Bangor, Maine. Essentially, collecting data on every single person that goes into the hotel and casino.

  About what you would expect from a Casino in Bangor, ME... foolish that they need to scan your ID upon entry, that alone will definitely keep me from ever returning, but once inside plenty of slot machines but very little variety and extremely limited choices for Video Poker or Keno slots...no sports gambling and poker room has very limited hours...guess it's okay for what it is if you feel like giving your money away.

  originally planned to stay at the Hollywood Hotel for just one night because we were stopping on our way to Bar Harbor and it was getting late. We ended up loving it so much that we stayed three nights! ❤️ It’s about an hour from Bar Harbor, but honestly, it was 100% worth the drive. The customer service was unmatched, parking was easy, the food was great, and the beautiful waterfront view was the perfect bonus. 🌊 The hotel was super clean, and our room was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for our family. We absolutely loved our stay and were so happy we decided to stay longer. Sometimes the places you stop at unexpectedly end up being your favorite—and this was definitely one of them! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  Hollywood Casino Bangor was a decent stay overall, but the experience was ultimately held back by disappointing customer service. The rooms were clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and everything needed for a comfortable stay. There is nothing particularly luxurious about the accommodations, but they were perfectly adequate and met expectations. The casino itself offers a good variety of games, but the gaming experience was less impressive. The slots felt particularly tight, with very little bonus game play during our visit. There were plenty of machines to choose from, but the overall experience did not feel especially rewarding. Table minimums also seemed unnecessarily high for weekday play, particularly considering how slow the casino was. If the casino were consistently busy, the higher limits might make more sense, but it did not feel busy enough to justify such a premium. My biggest issue was with the hotel service. Early on the third morning of our stay, we specifically requested that our room be serviced. We needed our trash cans emptied, additional towels and would have appreciated fresh bedding. When we returned late that evening, however, the room had not been serviced at all. When we contacted the front desk to request fresh towels, we were told they could not be brought to our room and that I would need to come down to the lobby to retrieve them myself. This was especially frustrating considering the hotel had completely missed our housekeeping request. A similar issue occurred on the first night when we ran out of shower gel and were again unable to have it delivered to the room. I have stayed at plenty of hotels, and I have never encountered one where staff were unable—or unwilling—to bring basic requested amenities to a guest’s room. After the hotel failed to provide the requested housekeeping service, having to go downstairs late at night to collect towels myself was simply poor customer service. The rooms were comfortable and the casino has plenty of gaming options, but the disappointing gaming conditions and especially the lack of basic hotel service made the overall experience fall short. There is definitely potential here, but the customer service needs significant improvement.

  We got back to our room at around 11p.m., after seeing a show. We found two insects that looked like German cockroaches, under and around the bed. We called the desk and were told that they don't have cockroaches, and that they would send maintenance up. 20 minutes later, we had not seen or heard from anyone, so we called back and asked for a different room. They said maintenance was too busy and they'd send security. We asked what our options were if we didn't want to stay in this room. We were told that they were booked and couldn't help us. We left and had to call the booking agent to start the process of a refund. We were refunded the price of the room, but not any of the processing fees. Had to drive over an hour home in the middle of the night. Not a great experience.
