- CCchipschwartz5 days ago5.0I have worked with Rob at Golftec in Gaithersburg and have made great strides in my game. As a new golfer, we started with club fitting which all by itself was very helpful and instructive. I have benefitted greatly from Rob’s deep knowledge of the equipment, the swing mechanics and the game strategy. He has been able to bring me over the course of the last year and a half from newbie style “I’m gonna be out here all day “ to eeking my way into the 80’s. As a techie, I have appreciated the tech in the studios and the help from Rob in understanding what the data tells us and what to do to improve. If you are a data-driven person, Rob can convey how to use it. If you just want to improve and don’t care about those nuts and bolts, Rob will just help you without the tech talk. He fits lessons to you. Rob has been great to work with and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

I’m still relatively new to golf, and Troy has already helped me make noticeable improvements in a very short amount of time. What I appreciate most about Troy is how clearly he explains things. He breaks the swing down into simple, understandable adjustments without making it feel overly complicated. He’s patient, professional, and very good at identifying exactly what I need to work on. After just a few sessions with Troy, I’ve already seen a big improvement in my ball striking, consistency, and distance. The video and swing data are helpful, but Troy’s coaching is what really makes the difference because he knows how to explain what the numbers actually mean and how to apply them to my swing. I’m very happy I chose Troy as my coach and I’m looking forward to continuing to work with him. If you’re looking for a golf instructor in the area, I would definitely recommend Troy Wood.

Other club fittings I've done come off as salesy where they care more about closing the deal when you start hitting a club well but Nick was different. He explained based on the metrics and location on the club face why I was getting certain reactions from the ball, he tinkered with the driver brands and builds multiple times to find the optimal combination for my swing and did a great job bringing me along the journey by explaining everything in layman's terms. I will 100% be back for another club fitting and will specifically request Nick because of the positive experience.

I had a 60 minute initial game evaluation where Nick performed a swing analysis followed by a lesson to improve the mechanics of my swing. He expertly identified issues, provided solutions, and designed a personalized game plan. He has a tremendous understanding of the biomechanics of golf, which he is able to translate into easily digestible instruction. I highly recommend working with him!

The Swing Evaluation gives both Coach and student a clear visual and numerical baseline for both indicating where improvement is necessary and measuring the improvement. We highly recommend the Swing Evaluation for every student, from beginner to competitive player. It allows us to understand your current swing and goals and helps determine the right lesson plan for you.
Are your lessons expensive?
Prices vary by the lesson plan, features included, and region, but they are highly competitive with teaching professionals in each area. However, each GOLFTEC Student will start with a Swing Evaluation which is $150.
Do you teach beginners?
We love teaching golfers who are just picking up the sport! Our coaches understand the unique needs of beginners and know how to make their sessions comfortable and enjoyable.
Can I take lessons at any location?
Absolutely! Your Coach will be able to help you find another Center and Coach. You can also use any GOLFTEC location when you are traveling.
Can I take lessons outdoors?
On-course instruction on specific shots and course management are a great complement to in-bay swing lessons and are offered at most locations.
Will you change my swing?
Changes to your swing may be necessary given your specific golfing problems and goals. We begin with your current swing and work on adjustments to make it more effective and productive.
Does GOLFTEC sell clubs?
Yes. We will order clubs based on your TECFIT club fitting or your specifications if you choose not to have a fitting. With our large buying power and relationships with leading manufacturers, we can sell custom clubs for the same price that you would pay for off-the-rack clubs at many retailers.
