- DDDavidMay 24, 20265.0I went to the Columbia store in the afternoon of May 22, 2026. Tell you what…. Moving forward…. I will never go to another store for anything related to outdoor recreation (except Bass Pro because REI doesn’t have hunting or fishing gear). I spent four hours watching YouTube videos about camping stoves…. Different brands, ignition systems, pots and accessories…. I thought I had the perfect one picked out to suit my needs. I asked the employee a question about the fuel canister sizes and their compatibility with the stove I picked out. He answered my question, and he must’ve sensed that I didn’t know anything about them. He stated talking to me about different stoves and their uses, and I learned more in ten minutes listening to him then I did watching YouTube videos for four hours. I REALLY wish I could remember his name, because I believe he should be recognized for his knowledge and customer service skills. I looked at his name tag, but my stupid a$ can’t remember it for the life of me. I will keep an eye out for him next time I am at the store and will amend my review to include his name. Great store, great employees. Went to the store today (May 27, 2026), and the employee who helped me previously is named Chris. Awesome guy.
