  The bicycle repair shop is super knowledgeable and very friendly. We brought our bike in for a tune up and it was ready a lot faster than expected which really made my son happy. We purchased the bike from the same store about a year ago, it is the REI brand co-op and have been very happy with it.

  At this store I was swindled into buying a membership at the bike shop being told that it would cost nothing as they would give a 30 dollar gift card to cover the membership fee that exact day. I was told only after the purchase that I will have to use the 30 dollar gift card on another purchase costing me much more than I originally anticipated during this purchase. On top of that this gift card expires in just over a month.

  I had such a great experience at REI, especially thanks to Bruce! I’m a very novice hiker and came in looking for the essentials for my first real hike. Bruce spent so much time helping me figure out exactly what I needed, especially when it came to hiking shoes. I had no idea I had a wide foot or that I should actually be wearing half a size bigger. I’ve always struggled with shoes and could never comfortably walk for long periods of time, so this was honestly a revelation. Bruce had me walk around the store, knock on wood, go up and down the little fake hill they have set up, and really test the shoes instead of just trying them on for a few minutes. He also taught me how to lace them properly so they stay secure and explained how much movement your foot should actually have inside a hiking shoe. The pair he picked for me ended up being 100% the right choice. I wore them on my very first hike and they made SUCH a difference. I was able to climb hills comfortably and had zero issues with my feet, even though I’m currently in probably the worst physical shape of my life 😂 He also helped me pick merino wool socks, which I never would have thought to buy. I couldn’t believe how comfortable they were even on a hot summer day. I ended up getting a daypack too and, of course, somehow walked out as an REI member 😂 I also love that REI offers classes for people who want to learn different outdoor activities. As someone completely new to all of this, the whole experience made getting into hiking feel way less intimidating. My first hike ended up being so much more comfortable because Bruce actually took the time to teach me what I needed instead of just selling me gear. The shoes alone made all the difference. Thank you, Bruce and REI! 💕
