  I needed to replace my large porter backpack, get a comfortable pair of walking shoes and a heavy duty belt and they had everything in stock and I was out of there in minutes. REI stocks absolutely everything for hiking and camping

  Matt was so wonderful with helping my cousin and I find proper hiking shoes! He took the time to explain the pros and cons of each pair and was super helpful in finding what worked for us! Everyone else in the store was super sweet as well checking in if we had questions or needed advice!

  I am incredibly disappointed with the decline in service and merchandise at this location. When I entered, no one greeted me. I waited 20 minutes before a young salesman approached me. When I asked for a Garmin rugged handheld GPS, he told me to wait for their "expert" coworker.While waiting, I mentioned I was backpacking the Porcupine Mountains and needed a lightweight backpacking chair. He pointed to a heavy, bulky camping chair and sarcastically told me I could just carry that on my shoulders—suggesting I hike 10 miles with it. Because I am a senior woman, he spoke to me like I was an inexperienced idiot. I calmly explained that my goal was a sub-20-pound pack and that a heavy chair was inappropriate, after which he simply walked away.The older "expert" salesman finally arrived only to tell me they don't carry handheld GPS devices in-store anymore, only watches. He offered zero recommendations or alternatives for what to look for online. When I asked where the always-hard-to-find women’s section was, he just pointed to the back and said, "by the windows."The women's selection itself was completely uninspired—just the same overpriced blue, black, and red jackets, a few swimsuits, and shoes. Nothing exciting. I left the store empty-handed and disappointed. The customer service and inventory have severely tanked over the years.
