  The staff are great as always, and was easy to order online and pickup was smooth, but the in-store inventory was really hit or miss. Might have just been a fluke. Thanks to the staff for the pleasant visit!

  My daughter is leaving for college and needed backpacking gear for the program she's doing. After trying a nearby competitor where we weren't approached by staff at all as we wandered around the store giving off "we need help" vibes, we went to REI. We had several employees check in on us immediately and point us in the right direction. Huge shoutout to Maureen for spending a significant amount of time helping my daughter find the right backpack for her. She did such a great job explaining what to look for when selecting a pack. It was a great experience.

  REI is now sexist…. Don’t believe me, go in and see how many men’s clothes there is, compared to women’s. I asked a manager why and he’s blamed it on corporate. I left $300 I was going to spend on the counter and walked out. Luckily here in Chicago there are options. 1 year return is the only thing REI has left. Which I will go through my inventory and make sure it is all returned. :)

  Appreciated the excellent help and consideration extended to me as a first timer at this location since moving to the city. I ended up walking away with exactly what I needed and then some. Great location and parking availability.

  Went to store today to get hiking shoes staff upstairs was nice and helpful but check out counter mid-age lady black long hair was a little bit rude she kept asking about my membership and asking if it’s my own membership twice. I almost ask if she needs to see my ID, bad experience about stuff and it is not the first time.
