We played this beautiful course three times and had an incredible time each round. The layout is fun, challenging, and truly enjoyable from start to finish. The course was in perfect condition every single day—greens were pristine, fairways immaculate, and everything looked and played like a championship venue. What really elevated our trip was the people. Every interaction with the entire golf team was extraordinary—friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming. A special shout-out goes to Loida in the club shop, a 30-year employee who went above and beyond for us. When our luggage was lost, she sincerely and thoughtfully outfitted us with everything we needed so we could still enjoy our rounds. Her kindness and care made a stressful situation completely stress-free.If you’re looking for a world-class golf experience with exceptional service and a course that is maintained to the highest standard, Hualalai is the place. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, this course seamlessly weaves pristine green turf through dramatic, stark black lava fields right up to the edge of the Pacific Ocean. 1. World-Class Service from Arrival to Departure From the moment you arrive, the hospitality matches the spectacular setting. The valet and check-in teams make check-in effortless, and the practice facility staff ensure your warmup is seamless. Special shoutouts go to two legends on the course: Brown Bear (The Starter): Sets a warm, welcoming, and relaxed tone right on the first tee. Sid (Cart Host): Kept everyone hydrated, well-fed, and feeling like royalty throughout the entire round. Pro Tip: Complimentary snacks and drinks are included as part of your round, making it easy to spend extra time warming up, practicing, or just soaking in the environment on the range. 2. Course Conditioning & Playability The conditioning at Hualalai is about as close to perfection as golf gets: Plush, tight, and immaculately manicured. Clean lies across every hole. Greens running pretty fast, but holding good shots and rolling incredibly true. Out-of-Bounds framed by striking black lava rock fields, making tee shots both visually thrilling and strategically challenging. Pace of Play - Out-of-this-world. Spacing was wide open with virtually no groups within an hour of our tee time, creating an unhurried, private-club feel. 3. Signature Spotlight: Hole #17 While the course offers several magnificent ocean views, Hole #17 steals the entire show and may very well be the single most beautiful hole you'll ever play. Playing directly along the ocean coastline, this par 3 requires you to carry your shot over raw volcanic rock to a green backdropped by crashing Pacific waves. The contrast between the brilliant emerald turf, dark basalt lava, and deep blue water makes it unforgettable. 4.
