Too expensive for what you get. I've played here for over a decade and watched this course slip slowly into mismanagement. $45 for a course half underwater. Staff turnover is obvious. Mower completely missed lines. Had a tee time completely overtaken by an eight some. No starter to address it. Course management is non existent. So you had a storm the night before, then go blow off the greens and pick up the branches that fell. On another hole they performed some branch trimming and just left branches on the course and put caution tape around it instead of hauling it away or dragging it into the woods. On another hole there's a fallen tree that is brown and long dead and you can tell has been sitting there for days blocking the cart path. Go get a chainsaw, cut it up and haul it out you lazy bums. Came back after back nine (which we had you to start on because of the non starter crap show) after the first nine to get a hotdog, oh but their new person was a no call no show. Oook, there's 3 people sitting in the pro shop and not one of them thought to walk over and open the bar because it was somebody else's job. Instead these old geezers just sat around complaining about young people. What a joke. Lazy and useless management. They've got enough time to drive around screaming disrespectfully at people for veering off the underwater cart paths with fallen trees blocking the path but no time to pick up a leaf blower to clear the twigs off the greens. Poor course management both on the course and in the front office. Just retire already. If you enjoy playing in the jungle and don't mind trench foot then by all means enjoy. There's plenty of other courses who endured the same weather, cost relatively the same and are not under water. Go elsewhere, Swampbrook needs new management

I had a deeply disappointing and frustrating experience at Willow Brook Golf Course that has left me with zero desire to ever return. Our group of 7 (4 guys and 3 girls) was out for a relaxed round with the guys teaching the girls how to play. We were very aware of pace of play and even proactively told the group of 4 behind us on the first tee that if we were moving too slowly, they were more than welcome to play through. After the third hole, a white-haired course ranger aggressively approached us in a very confrontational manner, complaining that we were “holding up his course.” Instead of speaking to us with basic courtesy or professionalism as paying customers, he was immediately rude and disrespectful. When we tried to explain the situation calmly, he escalated things further and even called one of our friends an “idiot.” At that point, we had no interest in continuing and simply asked for a refund, which we received. As we were leaving, I went back to the ranger and respectfully told him that he needs to seriously reconsider how he approaches customers (especially beginners) and that treating people with hostility and disrespect is completely unacceptable. The course itself was nothing special, but the terrible attitude and lack of basic customer service from the ranger completely ruined the day for our entire group. We went there looking for a fun, relaxing experience and instead left feeling unwelcome and disrespected. I will not be returning to Willow Brook and I would not recommend it to anyone, especially beginners or groups that include women learning the game. There are plenty of better options nearby with friendlier staff who actually value their customers.

Came here with a group of friends and our girlfriends mainly just to have a fun morning and help teach some newer golfers the game. Instead of being welcomed, the course ranger approached us immediately with an attitude about our group size and was extremely unprofessional from the start. At one point he even called my buddy an “idiot,” which was completely unnecessary and disrespectful. We would have totally understood if the situation was handled politely, especially if pace of play was the concern. It was early in the morning, the course wasn’t busy, and there was only one group behind us that we were already willing to let play through. Golf is supposed to be a game that grows by bringing new people into it. Hard to understand how beginners are supposed to learn and enjoy the game when they’re treated like a problem before even getting a chance to play. Really disappointing experience overall.

Really disappointed with our experience at this golf course. Our group consisted of 4 guys and 3 girls, and the guys were genuinely trying to teach the girls how to play. We completely understood concerns about pace of play and even offered to let the groups behind us pass. What made the experience unacceptable was the ranger’s attitude from the moment he approached us. Instead of calmly and professionally asking us to split up or explaining the issue, he immediately came in confrontational and disrespectful. To make matters worse, he called one of our friends an “idiot,” which was incredibly unprofessional and unnecessary. Most people would have been understanding if the situation had been handled respectfully, but the way we were treated completely ruined the experience. Customer service and professionalism clearly need improvement.

Absolutely unacceptable experience. My friends and I were new to golf and genuinely trying to learn the course, and instead of showing basic patience or professionalism, the white-haired ranger called us “idiots” for taking our time. Women should not be spoken to with disrespect simply because we are beginners trying to learn a sport. The atmosphere felt hostile, humiliating, and completely unwelcoming. If this is how female customers are treated, I would never recommend this place to anyone looking for a supportive environment to learn golf. To the ranger every paying customer should be treated with same respect.
