  I enjoy walking through here, however I cannot buy anything with the way things are. If I win the lottery I’ll be back to buy all the things. Staff are friendly and willing to help with their knowledge on the products. Great place to get a good pair of hiking boots, outdoor shoes or pretty much anything for your next outdoor adventure!

  Stopped in to just browse around at some camping gear for an upcoming trip. As someone who has more questions than ideas when it comes to anything camping/outdoorsy the associate there Taylor was great and helped me understand different types of sleeping bags, pads and cooking stoves that would suit my needs. She was great !

  Taylor was fantastic with backpack recommendations for our Camino De Santiago trip. She measured my wife and I up and shared pros & cons about different packs which was EXTREMELY informative. And we even found that we have rock wall climbing and a mutual climbing friend in common! Small world but also an example of how genuine conversation with people can unite you in ways you may have otherwise never known. We were also excited to hear that the store was beginning to bring in gear for rock wall climbing. Very limited now but we are happy to have learned there is more to come, especially with HexRock near by. Thanks Taylor! 🤗

  5 Stars — REI Sarasota I’ve been an REI member for over 20 years, mostly shopping online, but decided to go in-store when I was ready to buy an e-bike. After visiting several local shops and finding the experience exceedingly frustrating — indifferent staff, unhelpful at best — I walked into REI Sarasota and was immediately impressed. Matthew in the bike department explained the difference between Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes clearly — Class 1 gives you pedal assist, Class 2 adds a throttle — and I walked out with a new Cannondale Class 2. A few months in, I can tell you that throttle has been a game changer, especially riding into the wind here in Florida. Since then I’ve had my older bike tuned up there and just picked up a rack. Every visit has been the same experience — top-notch people who know their stuff and actually care. This is a class operation. Matthew and the team at REI Sarasota get my highest recommendation.

  Nice place! If they don't have it, ypu probably don't need it! If you are an outdoor type this should be your go to! There's stuff in there for almost anyone!!
