  I visited the Jacksonville REI Co-op with my children and had a very serious safety concern in the fitting room. My 4-year-old found a rusty, dirty razor blade there, and I am thankful he was not hurt. I reported it to staff, but I felt the issue was not handled with the urgency it deserved. I am posting this so other parents can be cautious. This was a dangerous safety hazard in a place where families shop, and I hope the store takes stronger steps to prevent this from happening again.

  Bike mechanics are lazy know-it-alls with a bias toward their own products. They actively tried to talk me out of spending money on a bike upgrade because they were too lazy to route the wires internally. They held my bike for a week and a half, calling me back every three days to tell me all the reasons they shouldn’t do the task I was willing to pay them to do. If someone is willing to pay you to do a job that you signed up for, just do it. The amount of hubris it takes to think your opinion is more valid than the paying customer’s is ridiculous. I took my bike to a local bike shop downtown, and the guy said, “Nice bike. I’ll get everything running perfect for you and order the parts—no problem.” Shout out to ZenCog!
