  My excellent service started with phone calls to the bike shop on Saturday and concluded with a full service install on Sunday. Nate went above and beyond receiving multiple calls from me to answer questions, emailing me the products lists and placing a hold on items to make sure I was set with everything I needed to install Yakima Base-towers and Jet Stream bars on my 2021 Tesla Model 3. Robin continued with the excellent service to teach me how to properly open and close the Thule cargo box I was borrowing from my mom and using for the first time.

  I have been a member for over 25 years but REI’s customer service has really gone downhill. Last year I purchased a tent (NEMO Kunai) for $465 and the front zipper broke after light use. NEMO offers a limited lifetime warranty but you need a Return Authorization before you send the item. It has been three weeks since I sent a request for a RA - no response. They have also not responded to a follow up inquiry. I sent a message to REI’s customer service about the issue and all I was offered was a 20% discount towards the purchase of a new tent. They were also going to charge me extra for expedited shipping as I have an upcoming trip and I need a tent. There was no offer to get involved with a warranty issue for a product I purchased from REI. They obviously will not stand behind the products they sell. I previously would purchase most of my outdoor related items from REI because I felt good about the company and wanted them to continue operations. No more – I will likely continue to purchase some items when necessary but ONLY if their price is the lowest compared to other vendors.

  Best REI in the area! Mike was so helpful from the moment I walked in. He saw me looking and wasn’t too pushy and just asked if I needed help. I mentioned briefly what I was looking for and he went above and beyond to get me sorted. He took me to the right section and even looked in the back for a different size that I needed. He gave me his honest opinion on what I would need to buy and where else I could look since they didn’t have some stuff. Best REI, definitely recommend.

  I literally shop here because of your great stock but one person named Nate, stands out as exceptional always, and always has the answers, willing to help and really fast at the checkout! At the end jr flashes a smileSmile and moves on. I hope he gets a kudos and is appreciated. The store vibe is great walking in because of Nate. Peace to All!
