  I've been an REI member for forty years and I still like doing business with them. Their home delivery service is nice, but they made a poor decision by Choosing OnTrac for the deliveries. Very often, OnTrac stops in front of the house and throws the package out in the street, rain or shine. Nothing has been stolen yet, but it's just a matter of time.

  Very big and HUGE selection of all outdoor equipment, staff is very friendly but not pushy and respectful of your space which I appreciate, their used Re/Supply section isn't that big and doesn't have a huge selection, I LOVE their map and trail info section where they have maps of local trails and parks with important info.

  I've been a member for over 50 years. The staff are a great resource for information about gear and often about local trails. Having a year to return items, means I can truly try things out without worrying about being outside a return date. At times, REI can be faulted for not always having the most durable gear. But they do stand behind their products. And that means a lot to me. Yes, you can often find cheaper prices on Amazon. But good luck in getting the level of quality and customer service you'll get from REI.
