  REI is always my first choice for all things outdoor. But selling shoes that are dirty, may have passed their lifetime as display does not set the standard for REI. I can live without the shoe inserts (shoe trees). But this sort of item should be noted on the used lot sale. Please do better

  I went to REI yesterday to buy some hiking boots. I asked the person for help and he said he had to help someone else but didn't bother to send one of the many other workers to help me. Another worker came by and asked other people if they needed help. I had to flag him down to get help. I basically did research using Gemini about what to buy as no one wanted to help. So I had the guy just get me the boots I picked with Gemini in two sizes. Then I had to get him to help me decide which of the two sizes to pick and he seemed reluctant to help. I finally got him to check where my toe was in the boot and advise me. I was very tempted to just buy them online more cheaply but was nice and gave them my business. I let folks there know I wasn't getting good customer support but no one did anything about it. I asked for a bag when I checked out and they said they don't give bags anymore. I was also going to get hiking socks from them but decided to get those online because my generosity in buying from them just extends so far.

  I ordered on line to be picked up in store. Great service. Always nice to just look around while there too.
