Saturdays 11:15AM – Space is limited and skaters are taken on a first come, first serve basis. Please arrive by 10:15am to ensure adequate time to sign up and fit your skates. This is the perfect lesson for first-time skaters! Our free introductory skating class helps students to grasp the basics of ice skating (i.e. balance, movements, and terminology). The class is offered one time per skater, after which we encourage you to join our Figure or Hockey Academy to continue lessons and further your potential on the ice! Please bring gloves, warm clothes, and knee-high, snug-fitting socks to the class. Protective gear, such and helmets and elbow pads, are recommended but not required. This event is open to anyone who wishes to try Ice Hockey but does not have any equipment. UTC Ice will loan all hockey equipment. Times: Mondays 6:40PM to 7:35PM Please arrive by 6:10PM to ensure that there is enough time to fit hockey gear. Please note: Our schedule is dynamic. REGISTRATION PACKET Download ICE SKATING LESSONS AT UTC ICE (SKATING ACADEMY) As members of our Skating Academy here at UTC Ice, skaters learn skills that will enable them to enjoy a lifetime of fun and exercise. Our excellent coaching staff is experienced with instructing students step-by-step, which allows our skaters’ learning experiences to be both safe and easy. Our once-weekly classes are grouped by age and ability, and range from toddler beginners to advanced skaters. We have a class that meets every individual’s needs, and new skaters are always welcome! UTC Ice Skating Academy provides an opportunity for skaters to showcase their class skills through small, in-class showcases and applies one of the most important aspects of ice skating: music. This way, individuals are able to experience a competition routine first hand! UTC Ice holds classes 48 weeks of the 52 weeks within the year. Monthly payments are dissipated equally over the 12 months. The four weeks that UTC Ice does not have classes are on the following days: Thanksgiving (November), Christmas (December), New Year’s (January), and after our annual holiday show in June. Although we do not have classes during those weeks, we still encourage Academy members to come and utilize their free Public Session admissions, provided that all monthly dues are paid.
