  Huge shoutout to Erick, the most helpful staff member!! Erick helped fit me for a new pack and gave me tons of helpful information & technical education on different packs to help me consider which is best for me! Really appreciated his approach and encouraged me to try try try before jumping into a purchase. Great organized location and helpful & friendly staff.

  Bike service was amazing! Dani, Reece, and another gentleman were receiving training from the head repair tech and they all took care of me. Informed me, showed me everything, and FAST! I will be choosing this location for all my future bike needs.

  Jevon at the footwear section & Miles at the payment counter were warm, friendly and patient to explain things to us. It made our trip to the store super worth it and left us with a lasting impression. The call operators from the different REI branches were also very kind to help us check for stock of the products we needed and gave good advice. Will highly recommend REI to all our friends who come to visit the US! Thank you guys so much :)

  Recently a pair of trail running shoes and later found the same model through RE/Supply. When I came in to return the original pair, I was transparent about why I was making the return. During the transaction, the employee (I believe their name was Dani) repeatedly explained that returning an item because I found it at a lower price was not really the intent of the return policy (satisfaction was used as well) and commented that the shoes would now need to be processed and sent to RE/Supply because they had been worn. They said, verbatim: “I’m going to take these back but in the future..” The conversation focused on whether my reason for returning the item was appropriate, rather than simply processing an eligible return. Regardless of whether she personally agreed with my reason, the item qualified under the return policy and members should not feel scolded or reprimanded for exercising a return option that is available to them. I understand the need to explain store policies, but a lecture rather than customer service is inappropriate. I have generally had excellent experiences with REI, so this interaction felt so out of character, and I left feeling uncomfortable. I’m still hoping to better understand what happened. Based on REI’s published return policy, I haven’t been able to identify why my return would have been denied in the first place. Why was I scolded and then given a warning? Reached out to their team to try to clarify whether the information with this note and to see if there is a policy I may have overlooked. Because I am still confused as to why I was scolded and given a warning from this associate.
