Great martial arts studio! The instructors are very knowledgeable and patient, and the atmosphere is welcoming and respectful for all. I came with my sons for Tang Soo Do, and stayed for adult Muay Thai classes for myself.
Highly recommend for anyone looking to build confidence, stay in good shape and learn martial arts.

Great place for the kids to learn Martial Arts! My 2 children have been going here for over a year and in that time they have learned more confidence, discipline, and self-control. The instructors all have many years of Martial Arts training and are good at adapting their styles to what each child, individually, needs to improve their skills.

Frequently Asked Questions About 7 Spears Martial Arts and Muay Thai
Where are you located?
Our martial arts school is situated in Encinitas, California. We offer convenient access and ample parking facilities for our students and their families.
Do I need any prior experience to join a martial arts class?
No prior experience is required to join our classes! We welcome beginners of all skill levels.
Our instructors will guide you (or your child) through the basics and help build your skills and
confidence.
Do you offer trial classes?
Yes, we do. We provide trial and introductory classes to allow potential students to experience our program firsthand before making a commitment to enroll.
What age groups do you accept for martial arts classes?
We offer classes for all age groups, starting from as young as 4 years old. Our programs are
tailored to different age levels, ensuring that each student receives the appropriate instruction
and attention based on their age and skill level.
Why is martial arts so important? Why not other sports/activities (Kids)?
Martial arts is like education. The skills and character development in martial arts go far
beyond that of most other sports and activities.
1.Is it important to you that your child is safe and that they make good decisions as they grow
older?
2. Do you want your child to be confident and avoid both being bullied and becoming a bully?
3. Do you want your child to learn important life skills such as perseverance, discipline,
resilience, respect, integrity, etc.?
We understand that as a parent you constantly worry about these topics regarding your child,
and that the challenges facing children today are changing. Our goal is to work with your
children to make them strong individuals who can protect themselves and build character that
will help them succeed in all areas of their lives.
Why should I do martial arts over another fitness regimen (Adults)?
Choose martial arts if you answer yes to any of the following:
1. Are you finding yourself bored with the regular gym routine?
2. Have you hit a plateau in your progress?
3. Does the idea of a total body workout that doesn’t feel like a normal workout sound
appealing to you?
4. Are you interested in learning a new skill, gaining confidence and knowing how to defend
yourself?
Our adult Muay Thai class is fun, engaging, high calorie burning and total body strengthening!
We are not a cardio kickboxing program. You will learn Muay Thai technique and strategy while
getting a good sweat!
What should I wear to my first class?
Beginners are typically encouraged to wear comfortable athletic clothing, such as a t-shirt
and sweatpants. Once you decide to continue, we can provide information on purchasing a
uniform (gi) for your specific martial art.
How often should my child attend classes?
We recommend attending classes 2-3 times per week to get the most benefit from training.
However, we understand that schedules vary, so you can choose the frequency that works best
for your family.
Are there any additional costs besides tuition?
Aside from monthly tuition, there may be costs for uniforms, belts, gear, and occasional
events or tournaments. We strive to keep additional expenses minimal and will provide clear
information when these opportunities arise.
How do you ensure the safety of your students?
The safety of our students is our top priority. Our classes are supervised by qualified
instructors who emphasize safety protocols, proper techniques, and provide adequate
warm-ups. We also have protective gear available for sparring sessions.
What benefits can we expect from martial arts training?
Martial arts training offers numerous benefits, including improved physical fitness, discipline,
focus, self-defense skills, and increased self-esteem. It also fosters respect, teamwork, and
resilience, which can positively impact other areas of life.
Can parents watch the classes?
Yes! We encourage parents to observe classes, especially for younger students. Parents can
watch from designated viewing areas to support their children and see the progress they’re
making.
How do I sign up for a trial class?
Signing up for a trial class is easy! Simply contact us via phone or visit our website to
schedule your first class. We look forward to welcoming you to our martial arts family!
What can I do to set myself/my child up for success?
Here are a few tips and suggestions to help you get the most from our program:
1. Stay consistent. Our most successful students stick to a schedule and keep those days
dedicated to their training.
2. Fuel your body for success! Make sure you’re staying hydrated and eating a healthy and
balanced diet. If you eat junk food before training your performance will suffer. Try to eat
something light with lean protein about an hour to 30 minutes before class.
3. If you have the space, take just a few minutes each week to practice the techniques we
cover in class to master them more quickly. If you’re not sure about a technique, ask one
of our instructors and we can make sure you’re performing the move correctly!
4. Communicate and connect with fellow students/parents. Having the community support
to keep you going when it gets tough is super important! We are happy to connect you
with an accountability partner if that’s something you’re interested in.
