Great selection of outdoor gear. Employees are very helpful and friendly, without putting pressure on you to buy. They are also quite knowledgeable in the outdoor pursuits.

I'm a longtime REI member and genuinely love shopping here, which is why I'm sharing this. I recently returned a pair of shoes I had never worn. One shoe looked brand new, but the other had visible wear through no fault of mine. The cashier asked if I'd worn them, I said no. She looked at the sole and asked again, 'Are you sure?' I pointed to the other shoe, completely clean, and only then she said, 'Oh, you're right.' It's an uncomfortable feeling being doubted over something so small, especially when your own innocence is staring back at you from the other shoe. And honestly, there was no reason for me to lie anyway, since REI accepts returns on worn shoes regardless. Asking twice didn't change the outcome the return still went through either way, it just left me feeling accused for no reason. I still love REI and I'll keep shopping here, I just wanted to share this feeling so it doesn't happen to someone else.

Came in to buy my first brand new backpacking pack. David was awesome and spent time discussing options with me and fitting the packs I liked. Also let us set up a tent in the store to ensure it was a good fit for us. Thank you so much David! Drew at the front was also super friendly and helpful. You guys rock!
