This campground is packed- everyone is right on top of each other with no privacy. We ended up only staying one night.

Honestly, the potential this place has is ridiculous! For family who camps with kids access to a playground is such a neat idea. The staff that helps you check in really lacked customer service experience gave you information and rushed you away. But the people who are in charge of upkeeping the campgrounds and making coffee in the mornings were divine ❤️ We stayed in campsite 011. Perfect right in front of the playground ,direct access to the river ,shady but that meant everybody was cutting through our campground. Understandably I mean you gotta get around somehow, but there is very, very heavy foot traffic as it was one of a few entrances down to the river. The spaces are so tight and somehow advertised for more than 3 people, you kinda feel like YOU are in the way of the access to the river even at your own campsite. Considering the price per night is so expensive things should feel otherwise. It does come with a couple cool perks like ice the entire time you’re there one bundle of firewood, and two mugs for coffee and hot chocolate. The entire weekend we spent over $400 for two nights, two extra bundles of firewood. No one talks about the huge skunk problem. The critter somehow seem friendly and un afraid of you. I understand you’re in the forest. There will be lots of critters. However, The etiquette of camping and taking care of the land there is nonexistent. We are avid campers. We know the importance of not disturbing the land too much. Every campsite is provided their own water spigot, which is great, but when we asked where to dispose of gray water. We were advised to just dump it wherever. Felt very concerning And explains the invitation to many animals rummaging through the campsites. Most campsites will advise you of how to dispose of grey water with food particles and provide bear boxes. No one seem to care. Such a shame because the place is so beautiful and really the potential is out of this world. I understand it’s a private property with a different approach but hopefully those things will be taken into account

Our tent campsite was unusable. The ground was too gouged and slanted to accommodate four people. While we ordinarily would have given the staff a chance to address the issue, the campground was so overcrowded and lacking in basic privacy that we were relieved to be on our way less than 15 minutes after our arrival. Terrain issues aside, our tent would have been only about 10 feet from the one in the neighboring site. On our way out, we stopped at the restrooms. They were dirty and poorly maintained--nothing like photos would suggest. Inconsiderate guests had parallel-parked along the narrow road, making it practically impassable for larger vehicles. We were very glad not to be driving an RV. We’ve stayed in some rough public sites the night before backpacking trips, but this one takes the cake. Unsurprisingly, management declined our refund request. We didn't let this experience ruin our trip, but Buyer Beware. If you plan to reserve something months in advance to enjoy Big Sur, best look elsewhere.

My husband gifted my 10 year old daughter and I a dream trip- to San Francisco (from Orlando) to see Billie Eilish. We looked forward to this trip for months and about a month beforehand my dad took a fall and suffered a TBI. He went into hospice just days before our trip was scheduled. To say that our trip out west had a major cloud over it is an understatement. I decided we needed to do something truly epic so we booked a cabin at Big Sur Campround and Cabins for a few days before the concert, hopped in our rental car after our flights and drove out. It was pitch dark by the time we even got near Big Sur, I was a bit nervous to be out there just us two but once we arrived I instantly felt that we had made the right choice. My daughter and I felt safe the entire time. Our cabin was clean, comfortable and had exactly what we needed for the most amazing trip of my life. The night sky is something I will never forget. Waking up to giant redwoods out our window, the proximity of hikes and excursions and the most jaw dropping views. My daughter even talked me into tubing even though the water was frigid (November), the other campers that were cuddling their coffees and wearing winter coats definitely thought we were insane but it just added to our memories, the amount of laughter we shared was everything. This part of our trip was so healing for me and despite the heartache was the best trip I've ever had in my life. I hope to come back one day.

We absolutely love this place, we've been there 3 times over the years and already booked for next year. It's our favorite campground by far from all the different ones we've been to. Yes it's a bit costly but well worth it. The hot showers, the bathrooms, the playground, the stream, atmosphere, etc have been amazing. The staff are wonderful as they are friendly and helpful. The other campers are friendly and keep to themselves. I feel safe and just able to relax with no worries and not having to bring so much extra stuff for bathrooms, showers, etc.
