  I had an amazing experience at REI thanks to John! He helped me find the perfect tent for my backpacking trip this weekend and went above and beyond to make sure I got exactly what I needed. He was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and patient, and I really appreciated how much he took the time to understand what I was looking for. John truly took care of me from start to finish. Excellent customer service and a great representative of REI!

  This location has fantastic employees. I have visited several times. I have always been asked if I needed help with anything. When I have needed help I have found them to be kind and well-versed in their departments. I get my hiking boots from here and have appreciated the fitting process and how they suggest the best options for my needs. Everyone working the registers have been nice. Typical REI choices and products. Their inventory seems to be stable. Even when its busy, they are still around to help and it isn't a long wait to pay.

  Disappointed by the lack of customer service today. I've shopped at this REI location several times over the past few years, and today's experience was completely different from what I've come to expect. I stopped by around 5:30 PM intending to purchase a bicycle. I was comparing the Co-op Cycles CTY 1.1 and the Cannondale Quick 4, and I had several questions before making my decision. I wasn't waiting for a sale or just browsing, I came prepared to buy a bike. I spent approximately 5 to 10 minutes in the bicycle department looking over the different models. During that time, multiple employees walked through the area, although several feet away, but no one acknowledged me or offered assistance. I understand if associates are helping other customers or the store is short-staffed. In that case, even a simple "We'll be with you shortly" would have let me know I hadn't been overlooked. Eventually, I became frustrated and left without making a purchase. As I walked out, someone at the front said, "Have a nice day," but by then the opportunity to provide good customer service had already passed. What disappointed me most wasn't the wait, it was feeling completely unnoticed while standing in the department ready to make a significant purchase. I'm posting this because I've generally had positive experiences at this REI, and I hope management and corporate view this as constructive feedback. A quick acknowledgment of customers who are waiting goes a long way and can make the difference between someone leaving with a new bicycle or leaving empty-handed, as I did.
