  Andrew was super helpful at helping my sister and I find the shoes we were looking for. Very knowledgable, friendly, and attentive despite being very busy. We are now “members” because of his expertise. Thanks Andrew!

  I just finished visiting the store in hopes to purchase cold-weather boots for my up north trip in a few weeks. I looked up trekking Boots online and saw REI had The ones I wanted. When I went to the store, I saw their selection was slim and not the boots that I had seen online that they carried. When I told the sales rep what I needed , She sounded short and responded with “ This is South Texas if you want those boots, you can go buy them up north” She could’ve easily directed me to REI’s website, which I’m sure they have. But with that customer service, I will never buy anything from this establishment!

  Asked about 6 -10 times if i needed help but didnt offer specific item help. Felt as if i was being watched. Ultimately purchased an Osprey Nebula for my wife. Wasnt dressed in my best came in late with wife and baby. This might have been an issue. Ultimately they had what i needed but dont expect a warm expierence. Cold corporate store with a facade of the wholesome family outdoor store i used to love. Will most likely buy online for less money and same expierence next time. Side note the Nebula is a great diaper bag alternative

  Great store ! First time in , bought some trekking poles as a Christmas gift to my mom for an upcoming Alaska trip ! Staff was so friendly and helpful. Will be going back for the rest of my needs for trip ! Yes in pricey side on clothing but honestly you won’t be finding this stuff for these kind of trips in our other stores . Thought it was priced the way it should be for this type of gear. If you are an out door adventure type store to go to here in San Antonio !

  Was my first time in an REI, and the lovely folks at the San Antonio store were fantastic at giving me the run down! Landon gave me a solid foundation when it came to hiking in the area and selecting my big three (closed cell foam pads are still awesome). Victoria was super helpful navigating the clothes section and selecting the right sun hoodie. Finally, Anna worked with me to fully understand camping cuisine and how to enhance my meals on the trail (those spicy peppers are AMAZING). All in all, I would highly recommend visiting this REI if you’re in the area!
