Last summer I went with my friends when it's a little hotter and the river was more full and more people went it was a lot more fun. Last time I went it wasn't so sunny so the river was extremely cold, plus the river was very low so we ended up getting stuck on a lot of rocks and crevices. But they did warn us about it beforehand so we can't complain about that, expect to spend from 3-5 hours on the river depending on how big your party is and how leisure ya'll are planning to float on the river. And the river does smell strongly like fish and ducks just fyi because it's a natural river so just be aware of that.
Once you float you cannot stop and must keep going until you reach the sign towards the end of the horseshoe, and don't try and get up and push yourselves bc you will slip, these are river rocks and not regular rocks. But we had to due to getting stuck a couple of times so we fell a lot, just wanted to tell ya'll to not make the same mistakes we did lol

Stay away owner is very rude and claims that she owns the side walk. She was very upset because I used my own tube and none of her services. However a buddy rented/payed a tube and used her services including parking in the parking lot. Owner wanted to charge more because I was "in his party" even though i didn't even park there! Thank God my buddy paid in cash. Avoid this location at all cost!

We floated the horseshoe on July 3, 2018. Shanty Tubes was the 1st place we happened upon when we arrived. Originally we were going to use a different outfitter however we couldn't find them. Shanty Tubes was great. I know it was not busy but they really should have had someone at the hut where the tubes were. It was a little confusing to go to the bar to pay and leave keys. Other than that.. the tubes were in great shape. They had coolers we could rent as well. The short ride to the river was smooth and comfortable. The river was a bit low while we were there but it was still a good float and the water was cold on a 100 degree day. I would use Shanty Tubes again. The rates seem high but are on point for other outfitters. Thanks for helping make for a great afternoon. My only complaint is the lack of cup holders on the tubes. :)

While attempting to enjoy ourselves with the company of another couple, we decided this place appeared to be accommodating, due to having a horrible experience at another tube rental, where both of the employees refused to air up our tubes, but previously jumped when another patron who was of similar color tossed their tubes in front of them and were taken care of immediately. Upon our arrival at Shanty Tubes, one of the employees observed the crowded line, and graciously asked us to follow him, so he could help air up our tubes. Once he realized the air compressor was no longer there, he apologized and had us follow him so he could assist us where everyone else was having their tubes filled near where we paid. In order to speed up the process, I went around the yellow tape and began to unscrew the cover, so they could be filled right away. Once I was able to undo one of them, another employee began to berate the employee who initially began to help us. First of, having served in the military for six years, and a former police officer for almost 19 years, this behavior is neither professional or appropriate in front of at least 20 patrons. I can only imagine if I were a caucasian, the outcome would have been different. I know this post will have no effect on the employee's behavior, I hope to warn fellow Hispanics to be cautious.
