- TPTom Posey4 days ago5.0I've been taking lessons at GolfTec's Southwest Austin for several weeks, and have been really enjoying it. The instruction is really excellent -- the instructors can utilize cameras and computers to help me see what I'm doing, and help me improve. I've noticed real improvement in only a few lessons. James Wood, in particular, is a superb instructor. I also like being able to practice in the bays at GolfTec. I can see where the ball would go, get a lot of useful information on direction, backspin, etc., and I have air conditioning as well. Great place.

Thanks to James Wood, who now manages the South Austin location, I now have a strong, reliable game with consistent distances and a swing that finds the fairway. James’s coaching is deep, nuanced, and goes way beyond the basics. He has completely changed my confidence level on the course. Five stars for James and the GOLFTEC team!

My coach Chris K. has been awesome - he is great at diagnosing my issues, creating drills for me to practice during the lesson and at home, and making sure I don’t fall into bad habits. Having the simulator time built into the lesson packages is also awesome to be able to practice what I’m learning. I would recommend GolfTec to anyone looking to strategically and methodically improve their golf game.

I've been playing golf for 25 years and never had a lesson, how i wish I had done this sooner.. Chris Karcher has been an absolute pleasure to work with. He had helped me make the required adjustments in a meaningful and professionally courteous manner. Would absolutely recommend working with Chris to polish up that swinging motion.

Why do I need a Swing Evaluation
The Swing Evaluation gives both Coach and student a clear visual and numerical baseline for both indicating where improvement is necessary and measuring the improvement. We highly recommend the Swing Evaluation for every student, from beginner to competitive player. It allows us to understand your current swing and goals and helps determine the right lesson plan for you.
Are your lessons expensive?
Prices vary by the lesson plan, features included, and region, but they are highly competitive with teaching professionals in each area. However, each GOLFTEC Student will start with a Swing Evaluation which is $150.
Do you teach beginners?
We love teaching golfers who are just picking up the sport! Our coaches understand the unique needs of beginners and know how to make their sessions comfortable and enjoyable.
Can I take lessons at any location?
Absolutely! Your Coach will be able to help you find another Center and Coach. You can also use any GOLFTEC location when you are traveling.
Can I take lessons outdoors?
On-course instruction on specific shots and course management are a great complement to in-bay swing lessons and are offered at most locations.
Will you change my swing?
Changes to your swing may be necessary given your specific golfing problems and goals. We begin with your current swing and work on adjustments to make it more effective and productive.
Does GOLFTEC sell clubs?
Yes. We will order clubs based on your TECFIT club fitting or your specifications if you choose not to have a fitting. With our large buying power and relationships with leading manufacturers, we can sell custom clubs for the same price that you would pay for off-the-rack clubs at many retailers.
How is your club fitting different from others?
Our TECFIT club fitting system provides a precision, agnostic fitting experience. All GOLFTEC Certified Fitters use our advanced launch monitor technology to measure your unique launch conditions. While most other fitters stop there, we utilize our proprietary equipment database of thousands of club/shaft combinations to identify the perfect club configuration to optimize performance based on your swing.
