  The course itself was in excellent condition, and my rating has nothing to do with the layout or upkeep. Unfortunately, the experience with the staff overshadowed what should have been an enjoyable round. We booked our tee time online, unaware there was an outing scheduled that day. When we arrived, we were told we’d been paired with another twosome, which is completely normal. However, what wasn’t communicated—and was very frustrating—was that our original tee time had been changed without any notice. From there, things became increasingly confusing. The clubhouse told us one thing, the starter directed us to tee off at 10, then another staff member told us to go to 1, only to be sent back to 10 again. When we finally got to the 10th tee, we were third in line while the 1st tee sat completely open. After waiting about 20 minutes past our scheduled time, we were finally allowed—somewhat reluctantly—to start on 1. Once we actually got on the course, the round itself was very enjoyable. But the disorganization and lack of communication at the start made for one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had at a course. It left a poor impression, especially given how nice the course conditions were

  The scraping method of aerating greens has to be the worst way to treat greens in golf and this course is a prime example of it. Its November and the greens are horrible to putt on and never healed from when they were done. We wanted to come up from York to play, knowing we only have limited rounds left before its going to be turned into a data center. Course still has one of the most beautiful and challenging layouts around. But damn... those greens were the worst we played on all season and we play all over the place. Putts will literally stay in the scrape marks and go away from the hole. Would rather play on punched greens. Won't be back till theyre healed not worth the money
