  REI Is a great store but the new location was a terrible choice, Oakway parking and Coburg rd is absolute gridlock, every aisle in the parking lot was backed up and took 10 min to get in and then again to get out.

  Very sad about the new location, not enticing to go look at things- completely opposite of the old location. People that work there are still great but I can see that some spirit has been lost in the move.

  Loved their old location. The new location has terrible parking, I’ve left without any of the things I came for simply because I could not find parking for 30 minutes. Additionally the interior design is god awful, the most tasteless ambiance while trying to find what you’re looking for. The staff are and always have been a delight, but as it is in a much busier location you’ll likely have to wait your turn for assistance. I enjoyed the small community vibes at the old location, when searching for backpacking equipment, I felt like I could ask for assistance and it wasn’t a quick one and done “try over there” kind of advice but rather a “let me measure you for a proper backpacking pack”. Left without spending my gift card because I waited a whole hour to find and decide on proper hiking shoes due to lack of staff available to help. Someone had to close the cash register and come help me (so very kind and I appreciated it). But overall, the money grab the new owner of REI is doing is a huge bummer. That is all.
