I stayed here for one night as a shakedown trip with my new Jayco 197MB. I had planned on staying for 2 nights but a forecasted rainstorm and the fact that I was only 20 miles from home sent me home after one night. First the pro's - It's a small campground and the staff were extremely friendly and personable. There are approximately 140 sites and probably 95% had campers on them (a con), but there were only a handful of them occupied. I was able to get a riverside site. I was there on a weekday in September so there were no activities going on but I could tell there was plenty to do "in season". The con's - The sites are small and very tightly packed. Luckily most sites were unoccupied, except for one of my neighbors. The riverside sites are all back in, and you back in perpendicular to the campground road. Except for my two neighbors, they both had parked parallel to the campground road, and both looked to be seasonal/semi permanent residents. The one on my backside was connected to the water spigot for my site when I pulled in. I didn't see any signs of life, so I unhooked their hose. The one in my front yard was set up so that I got to enjoy whatever activity they were up to, which included watching their Roku TV late into the night, with all their seasonal camp lights on, while I was trying to enjoy a solo fire by the Riverside. Other con's included no Wi-Fi; sketchy cell service; no picnic table(most sites did have them, just not mine); and lots of road noise from the interstate just across the river. We camped at Lake George Schroon Valley Resort in a Travel Trailer.

I truly enjoyed this campground. The river was low enough while we were there to do some rockhounding. The water was crystal clear. The seasonal campers were very kind and welcoming to us as transients. Our site had plenty of room. Laundry room was clean and so was pool. Very close to all the local attractions. Bolton's Landing has lots of entertainment options. The park itself was laid out nicely with a real campground feel. I look forward to returning.

Office staff were friendly and pleasant at check in. It was end of the season so not busy at all. We were very excited to book a river front site but when we arrived and discovered a major highway was just on the other side of the river and all you could hear was the constant flow of big trucks and traffic we were very disappointed! The sound of traffic drowned out the sound of flowing water completely. Our site had not been raked or cleaned. There was trash on the ground that had been there for quite some time. It was still doable until our neighbors who were literally parked 6 feet from our trailer awning arrived. We booked for 3 nights but moved to another campground after day one. If you enjoy peaceful, wooded camping this is not the campground for you! Sites are right on top of eachother with little to no vegetation between sites.
The campground appeared to cater to mostly "sloppy" seasonal campers. Many sites had trash, broken cement blocks and were not well maintained. A speed bump had two large spikes sticking up from it and low growing branches were not maintained for bigger rigs to easily pass on some roads.
