  I was a complete beginner when I started working with instructor Hugh Heo. It’s been a couple of months now and I’m seeing great progress. Definitely going to continue working with him, and recommend anyone looking to build a solid golf swing take a lesson with Hugh!

  I recently came here (for the first time) to meet up with some partners from work, and I had a great time! Very warm and welcoming environment, combined with delicious food and drinks. The staff was also very friendly and made this experience more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place, whether it be for a work event, a date, or just a casual meetup with friends, and I say this as someone who's not even into golf!

  I had an amazing experience working with Hugh Heo. He has a rare blend of deep golf knowledge, patience, and an ability to teach in a way that really sticks. From my first session, Hugh listened carefully to my goals and immediately pinpointed what was holding me back. Every lesson felt personalized, thoughtful, and genuinely fun. Hugh has a gift for breaking things down simply and making even tricky adjustments feel manageable. Instead of overwhelming you with technical talk, he explains the purpose behind each movement so it truly clicks. My consistency and confidence have improved tremendously — and for the first time, I feel like I really understand my swing. If you’re looking to seriously elevate your game while enjoying the process, Hugh is the instructor you want. Could not recommend him more!

  5 Iron at Herald Square is no doubt one of the best places in NYC to hang out with a group of friends. The manager, Sam, and his team of workers are incredible - they're extremely hospital, and exceed expectations in all areas. I've been attending this 5 Iron for the past few months and every time I walk in they make me feel at home. I'm no member, but seriously considering it based on how welcomed I feel walking in. I will definitely continue to frequent this location to enjoy the great atmosphere, sweet specials/deals, and endless fun games. Go check it out!

  I’ve taken lessons from a number of golf instructors over the years, but Sam Kang is in a class of his own. He’s incredibly thoughtful and precise in how he teaches, and he immediately points out the things that truly matter instead of overwhelming you with too many swing thoughts. He has a way of breaking down mechanics so they actually make sense, and he gives you drills that translate directly into better ball striking. You can tell he really studies your swing and cares about helping you improve. Every session feels productive, and I’ve been seeing steady progress week after week. Sam has a great mix of technical knowledge, patience, and attention to detail that makes every lesson worth it. Five Iron Herald Square is also a great environment to learn in. The staff are friendly, professional, and always make you feel welcome. It’s a relaxed but focused place to work on your game, and the team there goes out of their way to make sure everything runs smoothly.
