  I had been here once before in the pre-COVID years and it was a nice little casino with a couple food options. Fast forward to present day. Stopped in yesterday afternoon just to see it. Place looks and feels like something those abandoned urban site explorers on YouTube would enjoy. Or maybe a place for a gambling addict to hunker down when the zombie apocalypse begins. A few sporadically placed machines of such an age that screen burn was the decor of the day. The bar is still there. I saw one person at it and there was a bartender so I guess that's ok. A couple other employees milling about with disparaged facial expressions. There's a convenience store attached that had one employee hunched face down over the counter. The entire place felt actively neglected, unwelcoming, and almost like something you'd see in the opening scenes of an eighties slasher film. I hope golden gaming has some sort of plan for this place because the building has good bones. There is potential there. But maybe the significantly larger foot traffic at the Nugget across the street is enough and golden doesn't want to cannibalize itself by investing in gold Town. Conclusion: what a bummer

  This is the place you come to right before you die. 16 machines doesn’t comp you for worthwhile liquor. Wouldn’t waste your money here, go across the street to the nugget
