  Aaron was so helpful and friendly. He came up to me a couple times with useful information about my backpack and was willing to go the extra mile to check on the size for me. It made it fun to shop at REI. Thank you so much.

  The staff in this store are incredibly rude. I went here one last time to spend the dollars I had accumulated on my REI account. I even tried to share my experience when I was sent review to fill out from REI corporate…crickets. You’re better off looking around the store on your own but then buying the product on Amazon.

  I’m a New Mexican, very much so a brown Hispanic person, I’ve tried to give this store so many chances. I’ve gone to REI in Colorado with no issues! Always treated well by employees in CO. For some odd reason every time I come here it’s a weird experience, the employees don’t acknowledge me at all! I wanted to buy a new pair of Hoka shoes, and there was a female employee right next to me, didn’t ask me if I needed help, didn’t even acknowledge me, but kept acknowledging the people around me except me. Another young man came and same thing, acknowledged every one but me. I finally had to be the one to ask for assistance and ask if they had a certain size. The only difference between me and the people around me is that I was a POC. This happens every time I try to give this store a chance, it’s the constant getting looked over and employees avoiding me but catering to the people around me, where they obviously see me but for some odd reason don’t want to help me. I would say if you need shoes go to The Running Hub on Cordova! Friendly people, I only came to REI to give them one last chance but after several attempts at this specific store it’s clear that they only like to cater to a certain demographic which is insane, we are in NEW MEXICO where the largest population is Hispanics especially in Santa Fe. But oh well, wont spend my money where it’s obviously not wanted.
