  After researching to find a walking shoe that wouldn’t kill my toes and be comfortable, I went to Dick’s on Coors. The shoe associate couldn’t answer 1 of my questions, seems to know nothing about their products, and kept looking up on a handheld stock on shoes “I” asked about telling me every time they were out of my size, a woman’s 9??! So I went back to REI because they’ve never let me down. “Abel” was freaking amazing. I ended up trying the “Alta Sand W Olympus 6”, zero drop shoes. Tried them today on a shorter walk-6miles uphill. No pain and my toes could spread out like they were designed to do. Thank you Abel and thank you as always REI-Abq location👍🏻💪

  I stopped at REI after work to try on shoes before I ordered them. (the sizing of blundstones and weird). I must've been in the store 20 minutes and probably 5 of those were actually trying on the shoes. REI is I guess not interested in staffing their stores I saw two workers in the whole store and the woman who was the only person around was having to run back and forth to grab shoes for myself and two other customers. She had to leave to bring shoes up to the front and I almost left because at that point I had been waiting for so long. This isn't a complaint against the worker but the store seems to have stopped being interested in actually having staff on hand to help.

  I had an amazing experience here last night. Caroline in the shoe section was fantastic. Knowledgeable, super helpful, kind & went above and beyond. Donna at checkout was efficient, kind and personable. I’ve been shopping at REI for over a decade and this was the best service I’ve had there by far. Thanks ladies!

  Had great help and he helped me find just the shoes my Dr. sent me to buy. They were pricey!
